16 And Abraham hearkened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the sum of money which he had named in the presence of the Hittites, four hundred shekels of silver, legal tender with the merchants. 17 Thus the field of Ephron, which was by the side of the double cave which was before Mamre, that is, the Field of the Cave and the cave which was in it and all the trees that were in the field that were on its borders round about were made sure 18 And sold to Abraham in the presence of the Hittites and in the presence of all that went in at the gate of his city. 19 And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the double cave which is in the field before Mamre; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. 20 Thus the field and the cave that is in it were deeded to Abraham for a possession of a burial ground by the Hittites.
