45 These are the testimonies, statutes, and ordinances that Moses (drawn out) proclaimed to them (he wrestles with God) after they had come out of Egypt (land of bondage), 46 while they were in the valley across the Jordan (flowing down) facing Beth-peor (house of Peor) in the land of Sihon (warrior) king of the Amorites (sayers), who lived in Heshbon (stronghold) and was defeated by Moses (drawn out) and the Israelites (God prevails) after they had come out of Egypt (land of bondage).
