And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit was giving to them to declare forth.

Now there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.

Now this sound having happened, the multitude came together and was confounded, because each one was hearing them speaking in his own language.

And they were amazed and were marveling, saying, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

And how do we each hear our own language in which we were born?

Parthians and Medes and Elamites; and those inhabiting Mesopotamia, also Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya that are around Cyrene; and those visiting from Rome,

both Jews and converts; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God!”
