5 I was praying in the city Joppa: and I saw a vision in an ecstasy, A certain vessel, like a great sheet, descending from the heaven, sitting down by four rope ends; and came even unto me: 6 into which looking, I was investigating, and I saw quadrupeds of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and the birds of the heaven. 7 And I also heard a voice saying to me, Arising, Peter; slay and eat. 8 And I said, By no means, Lord: because nothing unconsecrated or unclean has ever entered into my mouth. 9 And a voice a second time was heard from heaven, Whatsoever things God has cleansed, consider thou not unconsecrated. 10 And this took place three times: and all things were again taken up into the heaven.
