24 And Joram rested with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the City of David. And Ahaziah his son reigned in his place. 25 In the twelfth year of Jehoram son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah son of Joram king of Judah began to reign. 26 Ahaziah was a son of twenty-two years in his reigning, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And the name of His mother was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel. 27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did evil in the eyes of YHWH, like the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab. 28 And he went with Jehoram son of Ahab to the battle against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead. And the Aramaeans wounded Jehoram. 29 And Jehoram the king went back to recover—to Jezreel—from the wounds that the Aramaeans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. And Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick. 2 Kings 8:24-29, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
