Jehoiachin was a son of eighteen years in his reigning, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

And he did evil in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that his father had done.

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city came under siege.

And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants lay siege to it.

And Jehoiachin king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon—he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers. And the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.

And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of YHWH and the treasures of the house of the king, and he cut in pieces all the articles of gold that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of YHWH, as YHWH had declared.

And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the captains, and all the mighty men of valor—ten thousand captives—and every craftsman and smith. None remained except the poor of the people of the land.

And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon. And the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the leaders of the land, he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon,

and all the men of valor, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand, all strong, fit for war. And the king of Babylon brought these captive to Babylon.

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his uncle king in his place, and he turned his name to Zedekiah.
