1 Paul, sent of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and brother Timothy, to the church of God being in Corinth, with all holy ones being in the whole of Achaia: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Praised the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion, and God of all comfort: 4 Who comforting us upon all our pressure, that we may be able to comfort them in every pressure, by the comfort by which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so by Christ abounds also our comfort. 6 And whether we are pressed, for your comfort and salvation, being well wrought in endurance of the same sufferings which we also suffer: whether we are comforted, for your comfort and salvation. 7 And our hope firm for you, knowing, that as ye are participators of the sufferings, so also of the comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:1-7, Smith's Literal Translation.
