7 As for all the people who remained of the Hittites, Amorites (sayers), Perizzites (villagers), Hivites, and Jebusites (Jerusalemites) (these people were not Israelites (God prevails))— 8 their descendants who remained in the land, those whom the Israelites (God prevails) had not destroyed—Solomon (peace) conscripted these people to be forced laborers, as they are to this day. 9 But Solomon (peace) did not consign any of the Israelites (God prevails) to slave labor, because they were his men of war, the leaders of his captains, and the commanders of his chariots and cavalry. 10 They were also the chief officers for King Solomon (peace): 250 supervisors. 2 Chronicles 8:7-10, Berean Annotated Bible.
