11 Uzziah (my strength is YHWH) had an army ready for battle that went out to war by assigned divisions, as recorded by Jeiel (God sweeps away) the scribe and Maaseiah (work of YHWH) the officer under the direction of Hananiah (God has favored), one of the royal officers. 12 The total number of family leaders of the mighty men of valor was 2,600. 13 Under their authority was an army of 307,500 trained for war, a powerful force to support the king against his enemies. 14 Uzziah (my strength is YHWH) supplied the entire army with shields, spears, helmets, armor, bows, and slingstones. 15 And in Jerusalem (city of peace) he made skillfully designed devices to shoot (to protect those who shoot) arrows and catapult large stones from the towers and corners. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was helped tremendously until he became powerful. 2 Chronicles 26:11-15, Berean Annotated Bible. Public domain.
