1 All who are under the yoke of slavery should regard their masters {despotas} as fully worthy of honor, so that God’s {Theou} name and our teaching {didaskalia} will not be discredited (blasphemed).

2 Those who have believing masters {despotas} should not show disrespect because they are brothers, but should serve them all the more, since those receiving their good service are beloved {agapētoi} believers. Teach {didaske} and encourage these principles.

3 If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord {Kyriou} Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One) and with godly teaching {didaskalia},

4 he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions,
