I exhort, therefore, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings to be made for all men,

for kings and all those being in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

This is good and acceptable before God our Savior,

who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

the One having given Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in their own proper times,

in regard to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I speak the truth; I do not lie—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.

Likewise also women are to adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and sound-mindedness, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,

but with what is proper to women professing the fear of God through good works.
