1 Now there was a Benjamite (son of the right hand), a powerful man, whose name was Kish (bent) son of Abiel (God is my father), the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath (first-born), the son of Aphiah (I will make to breathe) of Benjamin.

2 And he had a son named Saul (desired), choice and handsome, without equal among the Israelites (God prevails)—a head taller than any of the people.

3 One day the donkeys of Saul’s (desired) father Kish (bent) wandered off, and Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants and go look for the donkeys.”
