1 After Saul (desired) had returned from pursuing the Philistines (immigrants), he was told, “David (beloved) is in the wilderness of En-gedi (fount of the kid).”

2 So Saul (desired) took three thousand chosen men from all Israel (he wrestles with God) and went to look for David (beloved) and his men in the region of the Rocks of the Wild Goats.

3 Soon Saul came to the sheepfolds along the road, where there was a cave, and he (desired) went in to relieve himself \cover his feet/. And David (beloved) and his men were hiding in the recesses of the cave.
