20 But one of the sons of Ahimelech (my brother is king) son of Ahitub (my brother is goodness) escaped. His name was Abiathar (my father is great), and he fled to David (beloved). 21 And Abiathar (my father is great) told David (beloved) that Saul (desired) had killed the priests of the LORD {YHWH}. 22 Then David (beloved) said to Abiathar (my father is great), “I knew that Doeg (fearing) the Edomite was there that day, and that he was sure to tell Saul (desired). I myself am responsible for the lives of everyone in your father’s house. 23 Stay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks your life is seeking mine as well. You will be safe with me.” 1 Samuel 22:20-23, Berean Annotated Bible. Public domain.
