20 who disobeyed long ago when God {Theou} waited patiently in the days of Noah (comfort) while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water. 21 And this water symbolizes the baptism (submersion) that now saves you⁺ also—not the removal of dirt from the body (flesh), but the pledge of (appeal for) a clear conscience toward God {Theon}—through the resurrection (rising again) of Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One), 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God {Theou}, with angels (messengers), authorities, and powers subject to Him. 1 Peter 3:20-22, Berean Annotated Bible.
