9 The sons who were born to Hezron (surrounded by a wall): Jerahmeel (may God have pity), Ram (exalted), and Caleb {Chelubai}. 10 Ram (exalted) was the father of Amminadab (my kinsman is noble), and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon (enchanter), a leader of the descendants of Judah (praised). 11 Nahshon (enchanter) was the father of Salmon (garment), and Salmon was the father of Boaz (fleetness). 12 Boaz (fleetness) was the father of Obed (serving), and Obed was the father of Jesse (I possess). 13 Jesse (I possess) was the father of Eliab (God is father) his firstborn; Abinadab (my father is willing) was born second, Shimea (Shimei) third, 14 Nethanel (given of God) fourth, Raddai (trampling) fifth, 15 Ozem (I shall hasten them) sixth, and David (beloved) seventh. 1 Chronicles 2:9-15, Berean Annotated Bible.
