21 Later, Hezron (surrounded by a wall) slept with the daughter of Machir (sold) the father of Gilead (rocky region). He had married her when he was sixty years old, and she bore to him Segub (exalted). 22 Segub (exalted) was the father of Jair (he enlightens), who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead (rocky region). 23 But Geshur (proud beholder) and Aram (exalted) captured Havvoth-jair (villages of Jair), along with Kenath (possession) and its sixty surrounding villages.
