11 and King David (beloved) dedicated these to the LORD {YHWH}, along with the silver and gold he had carried off from all these nations—from Edom (red) and Moab (of his father), and from the Ammonites (tribal), Philistines (immigrants), and Amalekites (dwellers in a valley). 12 Moreover, Abishai (my father is a gift) son of Zeruiah (balsam) struck down eighteen thousand Edomites (red) in the Valley of Salt. 13 He placed garrisons in Edom (red), and all the Edomites were subject to David (beloved).
