1 And it came to pass after this that David struck the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its daughters from the hand of the Philistines. 2 And he defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants of David, bringing tribute. 3 And David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah as far as Hamath in his going to establish his hand by the river Euphrates. 4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand soldiers on foot, and David hamstrung all the chariots and left of them a hundred chariots. 1 Chronicles 18:1-4, Berean Literal Bible.
