1 And it came to pass, as David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, “Behold, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of the covenant of YHWH is under curtains.” 2 And Nathan said to David, “All that is in your heart, do, for God is with you.” 3 And it came to pass in that night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4 “Go and tell unto David My servant, thus says YHWH: You shall not build Me a house to dwell in. 5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought up Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, and I have been from tent to tent, and from the Dwelling Place. 1 Chronicles 17:1-5, Berean Literal Bible.
