Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm. Do not accuse anyone for no reason— when they have done you no harm.
Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways. Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways.
For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the upright. for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence. For the LORD detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence.
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous. The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.
Surely he scorneth the scorners, but he giveth grace unto the lowly. Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools. The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.
