| 11 | My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD {YHWH}, and do not loathe His rebuke [and do not lose heart when He rebukes]; | My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, | My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, | |
| 12 | for the LORD {YHWH} disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights [and He flogs every son He receives]. | for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. | because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. | |
