for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights. for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. For whom the LORD loves He disciplines, Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights. because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Blessed is a person who finds wisdom, And one who obtains understanding. Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding,
for she is more profitable than silver, and her gain is better than fine gold. for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. For her profit is better than the profit of silver, And her produce better than gold. for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire compares with her. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. She is more precious than jewels, And nothing you desire compares with her. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are those who hold on to her. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.
The LORD founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding. The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. The LORD founded the earth by wisdom, He established the heavens by understanding. By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
By His knowledge the watery depths were broken open, and the clouds dripped with dew. by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. By His knowledge the ocean depths were burst open, And the clouds drip with dew. by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.
My son, do not lose sight of this: Preserve sound judgment and discernment. My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: My son, see that they do not escape from your sight; Comply with sound wisdom and discretion, My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion;
They will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck. and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. And they will be life to your soul And adornment to your neck. they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. Then you will walk in your way securely, And your foot will not stumble. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Do not fear sudden danger or the ruin that overtakes the wicked, Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. Do not be afraid of sudden danger, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from the snare. for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught. for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.
Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Do not tell your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I will provide”— when you already have the means. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it to you,” When you have it with you. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you|— when you already have it with you.
Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he trustfully dwells beside you. Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Do not devise harm against your neighbor, While he lives securely beside you. Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
Do not accuse a man without cause, when he has done you no harm. Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm. Do not accuse anyone for no reason— when they have done you no harm.
Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways; Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. Do not envy a violent person, And do not choose any of his ways. Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways.
for the LORD detests the perverse, but He is a friend to the upright. for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence. For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. For the devious are an abomination to the LORD; But He is intimate with the upright. For the LORD detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence.
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous. The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the righteous. The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.
He mocks the mockers, but gives grace to the humble. Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. Though He scoffs at the scoffers, Yet He gives grace to the needy. He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
The wise will inherit honor, but fools are held up to shame. The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. The wise will inherit honor, But fools increase dishonor. The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.
