| 1 | Thou shalt not envy against men of evil, thou shalt not desire to be with them. | Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, | Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company; | |
| 2 | For their heart will meditate destruction, and their lips will speak labor. | for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble. | for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble. | |
| 3 | By wisdom a house will be built, and it will be prepared by understanding: | By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; | By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; | |
| 4 | And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. | by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. | through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. | |
