1 He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the wine press, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country. And he began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country. Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.
2 When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard. When the season came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.
