1 Then the LORD said to Moses, And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
2 “Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings that the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that they do not profane My holy name. I am the LORD. “Speak to Aaron and his sons so that they abstain from the holy things of the people of Israel, which they dedicate to me, so that they do not profane my holy name: I am the LORD. Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name <i>in those things</i> which they hallow unto me: I <i>am</i> the LORD. “Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy <i>gifts</i> of the sons of Israel, which they dedicate to Me, so as not to profane My holy name; I am the LORD. “Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings the Israelites consecrate to me, so they will not profane my holy name. I am the LORD.
3 Tell them that for the generations to come, if any of their descendants in a state of uncleanness approaches the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from My presence. I am the LORD. Say to them, ‘If any one of all your offspring throughout your generations approaches the holy things that the people of Israel dedicate to the LORD, while he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD. Say unto them, Whosoever <i>he be</i> of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I <i>am</i> the LORD. Say to them, ‘Any man among all your descendants throughout your generations who approaches the holy <i>gifts</i> which the sons of Israel consecrate to the LORD, while he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from My presence; I am the LORD. “Say to them: ‘For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD.
4 If a descendant of Aaron has a skin disease or a discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is clean. Whoever touches anything defiled by a corpse or by a man who has an emission of semen, None of the offspring of Aaron who has a leprous disease or a discharge may eat of the holy things until he is clean. Whoever touches anything that is unclean through contact with the dead or a man who has had an emission of semen, What man soever of the seed of Aaron <i>is</i> a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing <i>that is</i> unclean <i>by</i> the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him; No man of the descendants of Aaron, who has leprosy or has a discharge, may eat of the holy <i>gifts</i> until he is clean. And one who touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has a seminal emission, “’If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or by anyone who has an emission of semen,
5 or whoever touches a crawling creature or a person that makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be— and whoever touches a swarming thing by which he may be made unclean or a person from whom he may take uncleanness, whatever his uncleanness may be— Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath; or a man who touches any swarming things by which he is made unclean, or <i>touches</i> any person by whom he is made unclean, whatever his uncleanness; or if he touches any crawling thing that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be.
6 the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water. the person who touches such a thing shall be unclean until the evening and shall not eat of the holy things unless he has bathed his body in water. The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water. a person who touches any such thing shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy <i>gifts</i> unless he has bathed his body in water. The one who touches any such thing will be unclean till evening. He must not eat any of the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
7 When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the sacred offerings, for they are his food. When the sun goes down he shall be clean, and afterward he may eat of the holy things, because they are his food. And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it <i>is</i> his food. But when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterward he may eat of the holy <i>gifts,</i> for it is his food. When the sun goes down, he will be clean, and after that he may eat the sacred offerings, for they are his food.
8 He must not eat anything found dead or torn by wild animals, which would make him unclean. I am the LORD. He shall not eat what dies of itself or is torn by beasts, and so make himself unclean by it: I am the LORD.’ That which dieth of itself, or is torn <i>with beasts</i>, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I <i>am</i> the LORD. He shall not eat <i>an animal</i> which dies or is torn <i>by animals,</i> becoming unclean by it; I am the LORD. He must not eat anything found dead or torn by wild animals, and so become unclean through it. I am the LORD.
9 The priests must keep My charge, lest they bear the guilt and die because they profane it. I am the LORD who sanctifies them. They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it and die thereby when they profane it: I am the LORD who sanctifies them. They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do sanctify them. They shall therefore perform <i>their</i> duty to Me, so that they do not bear sin because of it and die by it because they profane it; I am the LORD who sanctifies them. “’The priests are to perform my service in such a way that they do not become guilty and die for treating it with contempt. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.
10 No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired hand eat it. “A lay person shall not eat of a holy thing; no foreign guest of the priest or hired worker shall eat of a holy thing, There shall no stranger eat <i>of</i> the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat <i>of</i> the holy thing. ‘No layman, however, is to eat the holy <i>gift;</i> a foreign resident with the priest or a hired worker shall not eat the holy <i>gift.</i> “’No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired worker eat it.
11 But if a priest buys a slave with his own money, or if a slave is born in his household, that slave may eat his food. but if a priest buys a slave as his property for money, the slave may eat of it, and anyone born in his house may eat of his food. But if the priest buy <i>any</i> soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat. But if a priest buys a slave as <i>his</i> property with his money, that person may eat of it, and those who are born in his house may eat of his food. But if a priest buys a slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his food.
12 If the priest’s daughter is married to a man other than a priest, she is not to eat of the sacred contributions. If a priest’s daughter marries a layman, she shall not eat of the contribution of the holy things. If the priest's daughter also be <i>married</i> unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things. If a priest’s daughter is married to a layman, she shall not eat of the offering of the holy <i>gifts.</i> If a priest’s daughter marries anyone other than a priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions.
13 But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or divorced and returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her youth. But no outsider may share it. But if a priest’s daughter is widowed or divorced and has no child and returns to her father’s house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s food; yet no lay person shall eat of it. But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof. But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or divorced, and has no child and returns to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s food; but no layman shall eat of it. But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and she returns to live in her father’s household as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.
14 If anyone eats a sacred offering in error, he must add a fifth to its value and give the sacred offering to the priest. And if anyone eats of a holy thing unintentionally, he shall add the fifth of its value to it and give the holy thing to the priest. And if a man eat <i>of</i> the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth <i>part</i> thereof unto it, and shall give <i>it</i> unto the priest with the holy thing. If, however, someone eats a holy <i>food</i> unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy <i>food</i> to the priest. “’Anyone who eats a sacred offering by mistake must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value to it.
15 The priests must not profane the sacred offerings that the Israelites present to the LORD They shall not profane the holy things of the people of Israel, which they contribute to the LORD, And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD; And they shall not profane the holy <i>gifts</i> of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the LORD, The priests must not desecrate the sacred offerings the Israelites present to the LORD
16 by allowing the people to eat the sacred offerings and thus to bear the punishment for guilt. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.” and so cause them to bear iniquity and guilt, by eating their holy things: for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.” Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do sanctify them. and <i>thereby</i> bring upon them punishment for guilt by eating their holy <i>gifts;</i> for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’” by allowing them to eat the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt requiring payment. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.’”
17 Then the LORD said to Moses, And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
18 “Speak to Aaron and his sons and all the Israelites and tell them, ‘Any man of the house of Israel or any foreign resident who presents a gift for a burnt offering to the LORD, whether to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, “Speak to Aaron and his sons and all the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of the house of Israel or of the sojourners in Israel presents a burnt offering as his offering, for any of their vows or freewill offerings that they offer to the LORD, Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever <i>he be</i> of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering; “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them, ‘Anyone of the house of Israel or of the strangers in Israel who presents his offering, whether it is any of their vows or any of their voluntary offerings, which they present to the LORD as a burnt offering— “Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel—presents a gift for a burnt offering to the LORD, either to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering,
19 must offer an unblemished male from the cattle, sheep, or goats in order for it to be accepted on your behalf. if it is to be accepted for you it shall be a male without blemish, of the bulls or the sheep or the goats. <i>Ye shall offer</i> at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. for you to be accepted—<i>it must be</i> a male without defect from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats. you must present a male without defect from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it may be accepted on your behalf.
20 You must not present anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf. You shall not offer anything that has a blemish, for it will not be acceptable for you. <i>But</i> whatsoever hath a blemish, <i>that</i> shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you. Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it will not be accepted for you. Do not bring anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.
21 When a man presents a peace offering to the LORD from the herd or flock to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, it must be without blemish or defect to be acceptable. And when anyone offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or from the flock, to be accepted it must be perfect; there shall be no blemish in it. And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish <i>his</i> vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. When someone offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or for a voluntary offering, of the herd or of the flock, it must be without defect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it. When anyone brings from the herd or flock a fellowship offering to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering, it must be without defect or blemish to be acceptable.
22 You are not to present to the LORD any animal that is blind, injured, or maimed, or anything with a running sore, a festering rash, or a scab; you must not put any of these on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD. Animals blind or disabled or mutilated or having a discharge or an itch or scabs you shall not offer to the LORD or give them to the LORD as a food offering on the altar. Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD. <i>Those that are</i> blind, fractured, maimed, or <i>have</i> a wart, a festering rash, or scabs, you shall not offer to the LORD, nor make of them an offering by fire on the altar to the LORD. Do not offer to the LORD the blind, the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as a food offering presented to the LORD.
23 You may present as a freewill offering an ox or sheep that has a deformed or stunted limb, but it is not acceptable in fulfillment of a vow. You may present a bull or a lamb that has a part too long or too short for a freewill offering, but for a vow offering it cannot be accepted. Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer <i>for</i> a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted. Now <i>as for</i> an ox or a lamb which has an overgrown or stunted <i>member,</i> you may present it as a voluntary offering, but for a vow it will not be accepted. You may, however, present as a freewill offering an ox or a sheep that is deformed or stunted, but it will not be accepted in fulfillment of a vow.
24 You are not to present to the LORD an animal whose testicles are bruised, crushed, torn, or cut; you are not to sacrifice them in your land. Any animal that has its testicles bruised or crushed or torn or cut you shall not offer to the LORD; you shall not do it within your land, Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make <i>any offering thereof</i> in your land. Also anything <i>with its testicles</i> squashed, crushed, torn off, or cut off, you shall not offer to the LORD, nor sacrifice in your land, You must not offer to the LORD an animal whose testicles are bruised, crushed, torn or cut. You must not do this in your own land,
25 Neither you nor a foreigner shall present food to your God from any such animal. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are deformed and flawed.’ ” neither shall you offer as the bread of your God any such animals gotten from a foreigner. Since there is a blemish in them, because of their mutilation, they will not be accepted for you.” Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption <i>is</i> in them, <i>and</i> blemishes <i>be</i> in them: they shall not be accepted for you. nor shall you offer any of these <i>animals taken</i> from the hand of a foreigner as the food of your God; for their deformity is in them, they have an impairment. They will not be accepted for you.’” and you must not accept such animals from the hand of a foreigner and offer them as the food of your God. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are deformed and have defects.’”
26 Then the LORD said to Moses, And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
27 “When an ox, a sheep, or a goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the LORD. “When an ox or sheep or goat is born, it shall remain seven days with its mother, and from the eighth day on it shall be acceptable as a food offering to the LORD. When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD. “When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall remain seven days with its mother, and from the eighth day on it will be considered acceptable as a sacrifice of an offering by fire to the LORD. “When a calf, a lamb or a goat is born, it is to remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as a food offering presented to the LORD.
28 But you must not slaughter an ox or a sheep on the same day as its young. But you shall not kill an ox or a sheep and her young in one day. And <i>whether it be</i> cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day. But, <i>whether</i> it is an ox or a sheep, you shall not slaughter <i>both</i> it and its young in one day. Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its young on the same day.
29 When you sacrifice a thank offering to the LORD, offer it so that it may be acceptable on your behalf. And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted. And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer <i>it</i> at your own will. When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted. “When you sacrifice a thank offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.
30 It must be eaten that same day. Do not leave any of it until morning. I am the LORD. It shall be eaten on the same day; you shall leave none of it until morning: I am the LORD. On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I <i>am</i> the LORD. It shall be eaten on the same day; you shall leave none of it until morning. I am the LORD. It must be eaten that same day; leave none of it till morning. I am the LORD.
31 You are to keep My commandments and practice them. I am the LORD. “So you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the LORD. Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I <i>am</i> the LORD. So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the LORD. “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the LORD.
32 You must not profane My holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy among the Israelites. I am the LORD who sanctifies you, And you shall not profane my holy name, that I may be sanctified among the people of Israel. I am the LORD who sanctifies you, Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I <i>am</i> the LORD which hallow you, “And you shall not profane My holy name, but I will be sanctified among the sons of Israel; I am the LORD who sanctifies you, Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the LORD, who made you holy
33 who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.” who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD.” That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I <i>am</i> the LORD. who brought you out from the land of Egypt, to be your God; I am the LORD.” and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God.
