1 Then Job answered: Then Job answered and said: Then Job replied:
2 How you have helped the powerless and delivered the arm that is weak! “How you have helped him who has no power! How you have saved the arm that has no strength! “How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
3 How you have counseled the unwise and abundantly provided insight! How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge! What advice you have offered to one without wisdom! And what great insight you have displayed!
4 With whom did you speak these words? Whose breath came out of your mouth? With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you? Who has helped you utter these words? And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?
5 The departed spirits tremble beneath the waters and all that inhabit them. The dead tremble under the waters and their inhabitants. “The dead are in deep anguish, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
6 Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering. Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering. The realm of the dead is naked before God; Destruction lies uncovered.
7 He stretches the northern skies over empty space; he hangs the earth on nothing. He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing. He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.

13 By his breath the heavens gained their beauty; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. By his breath the skies became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent.
14 These are but the fringes of his ways; how faint is the word we hear of him! Who can understand his mighty thunder? Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?” And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”
