But Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the well that Abimelech’s servants had seized. When Abraham reproved Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech’s servants had seized, Then Abraham complained to Abimelek about a well of water that Abimelek’s servants had seized.
Abimelech replied, “I don’t know who did this thing. You didn’t report anything to me, so I hadn’t heard about it until today.” Abimelech said, “I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, and I have not heard of it until today.” But Abimelek said, “I don’t know who has done this. You did not tell me, and I heard about it only today.”
Abraham took flocks and herds and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant. So Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant. So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelek, and the two men made a treaty.
Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock. Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock apart. Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs from the flock,
And Abimelech said to Abraham, “Why have you separated these seven ewe lambs? ” And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs that you have set apart?” and Abimelek asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs you have set apart by themselves?”
He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from me so that this act will serve as my witness that I dug this well.” He said, “These seven ewe lambs you will take from my hand, that this may be a witness for me that I dug this well.” He replied, “Accept these seven lambs from my hand as a witness that I dug this well.”
