31 Upon thus, he called that place Beersheba, because there the two of them swore an oath. Therefore that place was called Beersheba, because there both of them swore an oath. So that place was called Beersheba, because the two men swore an oath there.
32 And they cut a covenant at Beersheba. And Abimelech rose, and Phichol the commander of his army, and they returned to the land of the Philistines. So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and returned to the land of the Philistines. After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines.
33 And he planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of YHWH El-Olam. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
