1 These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess, “Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the rules—that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, Now these <i>are</i> the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do <i>them</i> in the land whither ye go to possess it: “Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which the LORD your God has commanded <i>me</i> to teach you, so that you may do <i>them</i> in the land where you are going over to take possession of it, These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
2 so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged. that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. so that you, your son, and your grandson will fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.
3 Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you. Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do <i>it</i>; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. Now Israel, you shall listen and be careful to do <i>them,</i> so that it may go well for you and that you may increase greatly, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, <i>in</i> a land flowing with milk and honey. Hear, Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you.

5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. You shall also tie them as a sign to your hand, and they shall be as frontlets on your forehead. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. 11 with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant— and when you eat and are satisfied, and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full, And houses full of all good <i>things</i>, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and carved cisterns which you did not carve out, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you eat and are satisfied, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,

13 Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name. It is the LORD your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. You shall fear <i>only</i> the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name. Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.
14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you. You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you— Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which <i>are</i> round about you; You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you, Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;
15 For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth. for the LORD your God in your midst is a jealous God—lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth. (For the LORD thy God <i>is</i> a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. for the LORD your God <i>who is</i> in the midst of you is a jealous God; <i>so follow Him,</i> or else the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth. for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
16 Do not test the LORD your God as you tested Him at Massah. “You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah. Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted <i>him</i> in Massah. “You shall not put the LORD your God to the test, as you tested <i>Him</i> at Massah. 17 You are to diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you. You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you. Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you. Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.
18 Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers, And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, that it may go well with you, and that you may go in and take possession of the good land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers And thou shalt do <i>that which is</i> right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, You shall do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may go well for you and that you may go in and take possession of the good land which the LORD swore to <i>give</i> your fathers, Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land the LORD promised on oath to your ancestors,
19 driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said. by thrusting out all your enemies from before you, as the LORD has promised. 20 In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?” “When your son asks you in time to come, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the rules that the LORD our God has commanded you?’ <i>And</i> when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What <i>mean</i> the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What <i>do</i> the provisions and the statutes and the judgments <i>mean</i> which the LORD our God commanded you?’ In the future, when your son asks you, “What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?”
21 then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt. And the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: then you shall say to your son, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. tell him: “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
22 Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household. And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and all his household, before our eyes. And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: Moreover, the LORD provided great and terrible signs and wonders before our eyes against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household; Before our eyes the LORD sent signs and wonders—great and terrible—on Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household.
23 But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had sworn to our fathers. And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in and give us the land that he swore to give to our fathers. And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. He brought us out of there in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.’ But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land he promised on oath to our ancestors.
24 And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day. And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day. And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as <i>it is</i> at this day. So the LORD commanded us to follow all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God for our <i>own</i> good always and for our survival, as <i>it is</i> today. 25 And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.” And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.’ And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us. And it will be righteousness for us if we are careful to follow all this commandment before the LORD our God, just as He commanded us. And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.”
