| 3 | And a mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great dominion, and he will do according to his will. | Then a mighty king shall arise, who shall rule with great dominion and do as he wills. | Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases. | |
| 4 | And according to his standing, his kingdom will be broken up and will be divided to the four winds of the heavens, not to his posterity, and not according to his dominion by which he ruled; for his kingdom will be uprooted, and unto others apart from these. | And as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to the authority with which he ruled, for his kingdom shall be plucked up and go to others besides these. | After he has arisen, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the power he exercised, because his empire will be uprooted and given to others. | |
