5	But when our time there had ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and knelt down on the beach to pray with us.	When our days there were ended, we departed and went on our journey, and they all, with wives and children, accompanied us until we were outside the city. And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”	And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver <i>him</i> into the hands of the Gentiles.	And he came to us and took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, “This is what the Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.’”	Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”
12	When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.	When we heard this, we and the people there urged him not to go up to Jerusalem.	And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.	When we had heard this, we as well as the local residents <i>began</i> begging him not to go up to Jerusalem.	When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
13	Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.	Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”	Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.	Then Paul replied, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”	Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
14	When he would not be dissuaded, we fell silent and said, “The Lord’s will be done.	And since he would not be persuaded, we ceased and said, “Let the will of the Lord be done.”	And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.	And since he would not be persuaded, we became quiet, remarking, “The will of the Lord be done!”	When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”
15	After these days, we packed up and went on to Jerusalem.	After these days we got ready and went up to Jerusalem.	And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.	After these days we got ready and started on our way up to Jerusalem.	After this, we started on our way up to Jerusalem.
16	Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us, and they took us to stay at the home of Mnason the Cypriot, an early disciple.	And some of the disciples from Caesarea went with us, bringing us to the house of Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we should lodge.	There went with us also <i>certain</i> of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.	<i>Some</i> of the disciples from Caesarea also came with us, taking us to Mnason of Cyprus, a disciple of long standing with whom we were to stay.	Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us and brought us to the home of Mnason, where we were to stay. He was a man from Cyprus and one of the early disciples.
17	When we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us joyfully.	When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly.	And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.	After we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers <i>and sisters</i> received us gladly.	When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers and sisters received us warmly.
18	The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were present.	On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. 19	Paul greeted them and recounted one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20	When they heard this, they glorified God. Then they said to Paul, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law. 21	But they are under the impression that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or observe our customs.	and they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or walk according to our customs.	And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise <i>their</i> children, neither to walk after the customs.	and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.	They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.
22	What then should we do? They will certainly hear that you have come.	What then is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.	What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.	So what is <i>to be done?</i> They will certainly hear that you have come.	What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come,
23	Therefore do what we advise you. There are four men with us who have taken a vow.	Do therefore what we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow;	Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;	Therefore, do as we tell you: we have four men who have a vow upon themselves;	so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow.
24	Take these men, purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that there is no truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.	take these men and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses, so that they may shave their heads. Thus all will know that there is nothing in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself also live in observance of the law.	Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave <i>their</i> heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but <i>that</i> thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.	take them along and purify yourself together with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and <i>then</i> everyone will know that there is nothing to what they have been told about you, but that you yourself also conform, keeping the Law.	Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law.
25	As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality.	But as for the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our judgment that they should abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality.”	As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written <i>and</i> concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from <i>things</i> offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.	But regarding the Gentiles who have believed, we sent a letter, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and what is strangled, and from sexual immorality.”	As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.”
26	So the next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he entered the temple to give notice of the date when their purification would be complete and the offering would be made for each of them.	Then Paul took the men, and the next day he purified himself along with them and went into the temple, giving notice when the days of purification would be fulfilled and the offering presented for each one of them. 27	When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,	When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him,	And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,	When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from Asia, upon seeing him in the temple, <i>began</i> to stir up all the crowd and laid hands on him,	When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
28	crying out, “Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who teaches everywhere against our people and against our law and against this place. Furthermore, he has brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place.	crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place. Moreover, he even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”	Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all <i>men</i> every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.	crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who instructs everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”	shouting, “Fellow Israelites, help us! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place.”
29	For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple. And as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the tribune of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.	And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.	While they were intent on killing him, a report came up to the commander of the <i>Roman</i> cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.	While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar.
32	Immediately he took some soldiers and centurions and ran down to the crowd. When the people saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.	He at once took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.	Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.	He immediately took along <i>some</i> soldiers and centurions and ran down to the crowd; and when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.	He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd. When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
33	The commander came up and arrested Paul, ordering that he be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.	Then the tribune came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. He inquired who he was and what he had done.	Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded <i>him</i> to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.	Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered that he be bound with two chains; and he <i>began</i> asking who he was and what he had done.	The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.
34	Some in the crowd were shouting one thing, and some another. And since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks. And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle. When <i>Paul</i> got to the stairs, it came about that he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob;	When Paul reached the steps, the violence of the mob was so great he had to be carried by the soldiers.
36	For the crowd that followed him kept shouting, “Away with him!	for the mob of the people followed, crying out, “Away with him!”	For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.	for the multitude of people kept following <i>them,</i> shouting, “Away with him!”	The crowd that followed kept shouting, “Get rid of him!”
37	As they were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander, “ May I say something to you? “Do you speak Greek? he replied.	As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the tribune, “May I say something to you?” And he said, “Do you know Greek?	And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?	As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the commander, “May I say something to you?” And he said, “Do you know Greek?	As the soldiers were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander, “May I say something to you?” “Do you speak Greek?” he replied.
38	“ Aren’t you the Egyptian who incited a rebellion some time ago and led four thousand members of the ‘Assassins’ into the wilderness?	Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”	Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?	Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”	“Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the wilderness some time ago?”
39	But Paul answered, “I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Now I beg you to allow me to speak to the people.	Paul replied, “I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no obscure city. I beg you, permit me to speak to the people.”	But Paul said, I am a man <i>which am</i> a Jew of Tarsus, <i>a city</i> in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.	But Paul said, “I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city; and I beg you, allow me to speak to the people.”	Paul answered, “I am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Please let me speak to the people.”
40	Having received permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. A great hush came over the crowd, and he addressed them in Hebrew:	And when he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the steps, motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great hush, he addressed them in the Hebrew language, saying:	And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto <i>them</i> in the Hebrew tongue, saying,	When he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the stairs, motioned to the people with his hand; and when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, saying,	After receiving the commander’s permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. When they were all silent, he said to them in Aramaic:
