They prove the truth of this proverb: "A dog returns to its vomit." And another says, "A washed pig returns to the mud."
But when Pharaoh saw that relief had come, he became stubborn. He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had predicted.
And you will say, "They hit me, but I didn't feel it. I didn't even know it when they beat me up. When will I wake up so I can look for another drink?"
An employer who hires a fool or a bystander is like an archer who shoots at random.
You cannot separate fools from their foolishness, even though you grind them like grain with mortar and pestle.
