New Living Translation
May God give them a bellyful of trouble. May God rain down his anger upon them.
King James Bible
When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
Darby Bible Translation
It shall be that, to fill his belly, he will cast his fierce anger upon him, and will rain it upon him into his flesh.
World English Bible

Young's Literal Translation
It cometh to pass, at the filling of his belly, He sendeth forth against him The fierceness of His anger, Yea, He raineth on him in his eating.
Job 20:23 Parallel
CommentaryWesley's Notes on the Bible
20:23 Rain - This phrase denotes both the author of his plagues, God, and the nature and quality of them, that they shall come upon him like rain; with great vehemency, so that he cannot prevent or avoid it. Eating - As it fell upon thy sons.

A Few Sighs from Hell;
An Exhortation to Love God
Man's Misery by the Fall
"And say to the people, 'Purify yourselves, for tomorrow you will have meat to eat. You were whining, and the LORD heard you when you cried, "Oh, for some meat! We were better off in Egypt!" Now the LORD will give you meat, and you will have to eat it.
But while they were gorging themselves on the meat--while it was still in their mouths--the anger of the LORD blazed against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague.
They savored it, holding it long in their mouths.
But suddenly the food in their bellies turns sour, a poisonous venom in their stomach.
But before they satisfied their craving, while the meat was yet in their mouths,
the anger of God rose against them, and he killed their strongest men. He struck down the finest of Israel's young men.
I will turn your celebrations into times of mourning and your singing into weeping. You will wear funeral clothes and shave your heads to show your sorrow--as if your only son had died. How very bitter that day will be!
