A Model of Intercession
Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.
Remember that we are the people you chose long ago, the tribe you redeemed as your own special possession! And remember Jerusalem, your home here on earth.
O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem's walls in ruins.
The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the LORD returning to Jerusalem.
I posted watchmen over you who said, 'Listen for the sound of the alarm.' But you replied, 'No! We won't pay attention!'
For the sake of your reputation, LORD, do not abandon us. Do not disgrace your own glorious throne. Please remember us, and do not break your covenant with us.
