CommentaryWesley's Notes on the Bible
26:7 He said, she is my sister - So Isaac enters into the same temptation that his father had been once and again surprised and overcome by, viz. to deny his wife, and to give out that she was his sister! It is an unaccountable thing, that both these great and good men should be guilty of so odd a piece of dissimulation, by which they so much exposed both their own and their wives reputation.

Jesus Sets Out from Judæa for Galilee.
As he was approaching the border of Egypt, Abram said to his wife, Sarai, "Look, you are a very beautiful woman.
So please tell them you are my sister. Then they will spare my life and treat me well because of their interest in you."
Abraham introduced his wife, Sarah, by saying, "She is my sister." So King Abimelech of Gerar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace.
Abraham replied, "I thought, 'This is a godless place. They will want my wife and will kill me to get her.'
And she really is my sister, for we both have the same father, but different mothers. And I married her.
Rebekah was very beautiful and old enough to be married, but she was still a virgin. She went down to the spring, filled her jug, and came up again.
So Isaac stayed in Gerar.
