They pressed upon him - Rushed upon him, επιπιπτειν - through eagerness to have their spiritual and bodily maladies immediately removed.
Plagues - Rather disorders, μαϚιγας; properly such disorders as were inflicted by the Lord. The word plague also tends to mislead.

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
