Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?
"Speak this word to them: "'Let my eyes overflow with tears night and day without ceasing; for the Virgin Daughter, my people, has suffered a grievous wound, a crushing blow.
"This is what the LORD says: "'Your wound is incurable, your injury beyond healing.

You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.
