because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.5because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.5for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.5For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we were among you for your benefit,
You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.6And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,6You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,6And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:6and you became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message with joy from the Holy Spirit.
And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.7so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.7so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.7So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.7As a result, you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,8For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.8For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.8For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.8For the Lord's message rang out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place that your faith in God has gone out. Therefore, we don't need to say anything,
for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,9For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,9For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,9For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;9for they themselves report what kind of reception we had from you: how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.10and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.10and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
