Sendo assim, Joanã, filho de Careá, todos os comandantes do exército e toda a população desobedeceram flagrantemente a ordem de Yahweh de que permanecessem na terra de Judá.

Não obedeceu pois Joanã, filho de Careá, nem nenhum de todos os príncipes dos exércitos, nem o povo todo, à voz do Senhor, para ficarem na terra de Judá.
