So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human being except to you, Your Majesty, would be thrown into the lions' den?" The king answered, "The decree stands--in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed."

So they went straight to the king and reminded him about his law. "Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human--except to you, Your Majesty--will be thrown into the den of lions?" "Yes," the king replied, "that decision stands; it is an official law of the Medes and Persians that cannot be revoked."

Then they came near and said before the king, concerning the injunction, “O king! Did you not sign an injunction, that anyone who makes petition to any god or man within thirty days except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing stands fast, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked.”

Then they approached and spoke before the king about the king's injunction, "Did you not sign an injunction that any man who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, is to be cast into the lions' den?" The king replied, "The statement is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked."

Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

So they approached the king and asked about his edict: "Didn't you sign an edict that for 30 days any man who petitions any god or man except you, the king, will be thrown into the lions' den?" The king answered, "As a law of the Medes and Persians, the order stands and is irrevocable."

So they approached the king and asked, "Didn't you sign an edict that for the next 30 days if anyone prays to any god or man, except to you, your majesty, he would be thrown into the lions' pit?" The king responded, "The decree has been established, in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians that can't be repealed."

So they approached the king and said to him, "Did you not issue an edict to the effect that for the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human other than to you, O king, would be thrown into a den of lions?" The king replied, "That is correct, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed."

Then they went and spoke to the king about his decree. [They asked,] "Didn't you sign a decree which stated that for 30 days whoever asks for anything from any god or person except you, Your Majesty, will be thrown into a lions' den?" The king answered, "That's true. According to the law of the Medes and Persians the decree can't be repealed."

Then they went and spoke before the king concerning the royal decree; Hast thou not confirmed a decree that whoever shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Media and Persia, which does not change.

Kështu iu afruan mbretit dhe folën para tij për dekretin mbretëror: "A nuk ke nënshkruar një dekret në bazë të të cilit gjatë tridhjetë ditëve kushdo që do të bëjë një kërkesë drejtuar çfarëdo perëndie ose njeriu me përjashtimin tënd, o mbret, do të hidhet në gropën e luanëve?". Tada odoše i pred kraljem se pozvaše na kraljevsku zabranu: Zar ti nisi potpisao zabranu prema kojoj će svaki onaj koji bi u vremenu od trideset dana upravio molbu na nekoga boga ili čovjeka, osim na tebe, o kralju, biti bačen u lavsku jamu? Kralj odgovori: Tako je odlučeno po nepromjenljivom medijsko-perzijskom zakonu.

Ekkor bemenének, és mondák a királynak a király tilalma felõl: Nem megírtad-é a tilalmat, hogy ha valaki kér valamit valamely istentõl vagy embertõl harmincz napig, tekívüled oh király, vettessék az oroszlánok vermébe? Felele a király és monda: Áll a szó! a médek és persák vissza nem vonható törvénye szerint.

Der König antwortete und sprach: Es ist wahr, und das Recht der Meder und Perser soll niemand aufheben.

Da traten sie vor den König und fragten ihn betreffs des königlichen Verbots: Hast du nicht ein schriftliches Verbot erlassen, daß jedermann, der binnen dreißig Tagen an irgendeinen Gott oder Menschen eine Bitte richten würde, außer an dich, o König, in die Löwengrube geworfen werden soll? Der König antwortete und sprach: Die Sache steht fest nach dem unabänderlichen medischen und persischen Gesetz.

Poi s’accostarono al re, e gli parlarono del divieto reale: "Non hai tu firmato un divieto, per il quale chiunque entro lo spazio di trenta giorni farà qualche richiesta a qualsivoglia dio o uomo tranne che a te, o re, deve essere gettato nella fossa de’ leoni?" Il re rispose e disse: "La cosa è stabilita, conformemente alla legge dei Medi e de’ Persiani, che è irrevocabile".

Ed in quello stante vennero al re, e dissero in sua presenza, intorno al divieto reale: Non hai tu scritto il divieto, che chiunque farà alcuna richiesta a qualunque dio, od uomo, di qui a trenta giorni, salvo che a te, o re, sia gettato nella fossa de’ leoni? Il re rispose, e disse: La cosa è ferma, nella maniera delle leggi di Media, e di Persia, che sono irrevocabili.

Maka datanglah mereka itu hampir, lalu bersembah kepada baginda akan hal firman baginda itu, sembahnya: Bukankah sudah tuanku meteraikan firman, bunyinya, bahwa barangsiapa yang akan meminta barang sesuatu kepada dewa atau manusia dalam tiga puluh hari ini, melainkan kepada tuanku, niscaya orang itu dicampak ke dalam keleburan singa? E, mais que depressa, foram falar com o rei acerca do cumprimento do decreto real e argumentaram: “Tu não publicaste uma resolução real ordenando que nestes trinta dias toda pessoa que manifestasse um pedido a qualquer deus ou a qualquer ser humano, exceto a ti, ó rei, fosse atirado sumariamente à cova dos leões?” Ao que o rei replicou: “Sim, este decreto está em pleno vigor, de acordo com a lei dos medos e dos persas, que não pode ser revogada!”

Depois se foram à presença do rei e lhe perguntaram no tocante ao interdito real: Porventura não assinaste um interdito pelo qual todo homem que fizesse uma petição a qualquer deus, ou a qualquer homem por espaço de trinta dias, exceto a ti, ó rei, fosse lançado na cova dos leões? Respondeu o rei, e disse: Esta palavra é certa, conforme a lei dos medos e dos persas, que não se pode revogar.
