Interwoven Gospels Simon Peter saith to Him, "Lord, whither goest Thou?" Jesus answered "Whither I am going thou canst not follow Me now, but thou shalt follow Me afterwards. Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked for you all, to sift you as wheat; but I prayed for thee, that thy faith might not fail: and do thou, when thou hast turned again, confirm thy brethren." Peter saith to Him, "Lord, why cannot I follow Thee even now? I am ready to go with Thee both to prison and to death. I will lay down my life for Thee." Jesus answereth, "Wilt thou lay down thy life for Me? Verily, verily, I say to thee, the cock shall not crow till thou hast denied Me three times." Then Jesus saith to His disciples, "All ye shall forsake Me this night: for it is written, 'I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad." But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee." But Peter answered and said to Him, "Although all shall be made to forsake Thee, yet will not I forsake Thee." Jesus saith to him, "I tell thee, Peter, verily today, this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt three times deny that thou knowest Me." But Peter kept saying the more vehemently to Him, "Even if I must die with Thee, I will not deny Thee." Likewise also said all the disciples.
