(c) He shows the weapons the wicked use, when power and force fail them. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. (d) He declares the remedy of the godly, when they are oppressed by the worldlings. The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. (e) He calls to God with lively faith, being assured of his mercies, because he had before time proved, that God helped him ever in his dangers. Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
