Wisdom 16:23
Good News Translation
held back its power, so that your own righteous people might have food.

whereas the fire, in order that the righteous might be fed, even forgot its native power.

Contrary to nature, the fire did not spread to the crops of your people.

For the creature serving thee, the Creator, is made fierce against the unjust for their punishment: and abateth its strength for the benefit of them that trust in thee.
