Sirach 5:6
Good News Translation
Don't think that his mercy is so great that he will forgive your sins no matter how many they are. He does show mercy, but he also shows his furious anger with sinners.

New Revised Standard Version
Do not say, “His mercy is great, he will forgive the multitude of my sins,” for both mercy and wrath are with him, and his anger will rest on sinners.

Contemporary English Version
and say, "God is very kind, and he will forgive me even though I sin a lot." Yes, God is kind, but he also gets angry and punishes sinners.

Do not say, “His mercy is great; my many sins he will forgive.” For mercy and anger alike are with him; his wrath comes to rest on the wicked.
