Sirach 20:20
Good News Translation
Nobody takes a proverb seriously when some fool quotes it at the wrong time.

A proverb from a fool’s lips will be rejected, for he does not tell it at the proper time.

Everyone ignores a proverb repeated by a fool, because fools never choose the right one.
