2 Maccabees 8:16
Good News Translation
Judas brought together all 6,000 of his men and encouraged them not to be frightened or to flee in panic at the sight of the large number of Gentile troops who were marching against them without cause. Instead they should fight bravely,

But Maccabeus gathered his forces together, to the number six thousand, and exhorted them not to be frightened by the enemy and not to fear the great multitude of Gentiles who were wickedly coming against them, but to fight nobly,

After Judas had brought together his army of 6,000 soldiers, he encouraged them by saying: Don't be afraid and panic when you see the huge army of foreigners! They were wrong to invade our country, so fight them bravely.
