1 Maccabees 9:71
Good News Translation
Bacchides agreed to do as Jonathan asked and gave him his solemn promise that he would let him live in peace the rest of his life.

New Revised Standard Version
He agreed, and did as he said; and he swore to Jonathan that he would not try to harm him as long as he lived.

Contemporary English Version
Bacchides agreed. He released the Jews he had captured in Judea and promised not to bother Judas again. Then he went back to his own country and never returned to Judea.

He agreed to do as Jonathan asked. He swore an oath to him that he would never try to do him any harm for the rest of his life;
