1 Maccabees 6:31
Good News Translation
The king and his army passed through Idumea and laid siege to Bethzur, where they fought for a long time. They built battering rams and siege platforms, but the defenders fought bravely and came out of the town and burned down the platforms.

New Revised Standard Version
They came through Idumea and encamped against Beth-zur, and for many days they fought and built engines of war; but the Jews sallied out and burned these with fire, and fought courageously.

Contemporary English Version
He led his army through Idumea, and for a long time, he attacked the town of Beth-Zur with weapons to break through the wall. But the people fought back bravely. They even rushed out of the town and set fire to the weapons of war.
