Good News Translation
Then Judas, his brothers, and the entire community of Israel decreed that the rededication of the altar should be celebrated with a festival of joy and gladness at the same time each year, beginning on the twenty-fifth of the month of Kislev and lasting for eight days.

New Revised Standard Version
Then Judas and his brothers and all the assembly of Israel determined that every year at that season the days of dedication of the altar should be observed with joy and gladness for eight days, beginning with the twenty-fifth day of the month of Chislev.

Contemporary English Version
Judas and his brothers, together with everyone else, decided to celebrate the dedication of the altar each year at this same time. This joyous festival would begin on the twenty-fifth day of the month of Chislev and last eight days.
